Liechtenstein Museum: The Princely Collections
One of the most extensive collections of Rubens, prominent works by van Dyck, Lucas Cranach and Raffael, and compositions by Rembrandt, van Ruysdael and Hamilton can all be admired.
They are complemented by weaponry, porcelain, a large collection of bronzes and one of the most beautiful remaining French state coaches. In the final days of the Second World War the collections had been taken to safety in Vaduz, the capital of the principality of Liechtenstein. Now that the museum is being “reopened”, premises of Palais Liechtenstein previously closed to the public, for instance the magnificent library, will also be on view.
