Open Air Opera: Verdi’s “Il Corsaro”
This July, opernwerkstatt wien performs Verdi’s opera “Il Corsaro,” which is generally regarded as a “difficult” work, for the first time in Austria. The performance takes place in a courtyard of the Vienna Rossauer barracks, which were erected 150 years ago under Emperor Franz Joseph in Tudor style and later served as a police headquarters.
Theater an der Wien
During the Mozart Year 2006, the Theater an der Wien was opened once again as an opera house. During 2007, Vienna’s newest opera house offers Mozart, baroque opera, modern American opera as well as an attractive concert series.
